Let’s be honest. Do you know what your kid is watching on Amazon Prime Video? Luckily, Amazon has provided some excellent controls that allow you to limit access to rating that aren’t appropriate for your kids. In this video, we’ll cover everything that you need to know about these parental controls in just around a minute.
One of the most popular streaming video services in Amazon’s Prime Video. Luckily, Amazon has provided a way for you to make sure that you’re kids can’t launch content that you wouldn’t want them to see. Today, I’ll show you how you can lock content in Amazon Prime Video across any application that uses your Amazon account. Let’s jump in.
On your computer, navigate to your Amazon Video Settings. From this page, the first step is to set a video PIN. This PIN will be required to bypass parental controls on any device where you have those controls enabled. Your PIN should be a five-digit code that your children do no know. Now after you have this PIN in place, you will want to be sure that Purchase Restrictions is set to On. This will require the PIN to be entered for any purchases. It’s important to note that for the Fire TV and Fire Tablet, you must set up purchase restrictions on the device itself.
Next, you can enter the acceptable rating for viewing on your devices. Since I have younger kids, I have only selected the General option. Now with this setting, my kids could only watch that contact without entering the PIN. Next, you can select which devices these controls are enabled for. For the most security, be sure the All Supported Devices option is enabled. If you want to disable this functionality for certain devices, you can uncheck those on this screen. Now with these controls in place, you can make sure that your kids don’t make any unwanted purchases or watch any objectionable content through Amazon Instant Video.
